Aim Fire Stop Blocks

AIM Fire Stop Blocks are made from high density Rockwool stone wool. Incorporated into the building during construction, they are used to seal apertures and are permanently held in place by compression. They can also be used within metal cladding as a fire break and to protect the top flange of steel beams. Rockwool red logo

Specification

Length relates to the amount of fire stopping material required between one compartment to the next. The total length may be made up from two shorter blocks (i.e. two 50mm long blocks inserted either side of the wall or partition equate to a 100mm fire seal). The minimum length of block available is 50mm.

Acoustics

When installed above a partition and where an imperforate 12.5mm plasterboard ceiling is installed to abut the partition below on both sides, the room-to-room sound reduction, on the path of the AIM Fire Stop Block, will be at least 47dB – average sound reduction index.

Installation

AIM Fire Stop Blocks are push fitted into place; they must fit tightly and completely. Dovetail fire stops are supplied as rectangular blocks, which are pinch fitted into the profile, then pushed into place.

Air Leakage

AIM ablative coated fire stop blocks provide a robust solution to air leakage requirements. These are available to suit most major cladding and decking profiles.
