AIM Impact Resistant Units

AIM Impace Resistant Units

Impact resistant facing board - bonded to AIM insulation slab.

Choice of Insulation -

LAMELLA (LAM)
Lamellas are made from high density rock wool slab, which is cut into blocks and rotated through 90 degrees before being bonded to the fibre cement board.
Lamella rock wool is incombustible and is especially suitable for acoustic applications.

EXTRUDED POLYSTYRENE (XPS)
Small closed cell extruded polystyrene for optimum insulation, high compressive strength and resistance to moisture.

EXPANDED POLYSTYRENE (EPS)
Versatile expanded polystyrene for optimum value and light weight.

PHENOLIC (PHN)
Phenolic foam has very low thermal conductivity and excellent fire resisting properties (Class O).

Introduction

AIM Impact Resistant Units are manufactured from insulation slab bonded to fibre cement board; they are also available faced with UHD decorative rock fibre board, which are suitable for fully exposed exterior cladding. The Units offer excellent impact resistance and are used to provide an insulated external lining to soffits and an internal lining for walls and ceilings, especially where robustness is required. AIM Impact Resistant Units will provide considerably enhanced insulation, improved sound reduction and a smooth exposed finish, which may be decorated or left bare.

Fire Properties

The surface of the facing complies with the performance requirements of Class O of the Building Regulations. Lamella rock wool insulation also complies with the performance requirements of Class O of the Building Regulations, is incombustible to BS 476 part 4, and is rated Class 1 Surface Spread of Flame to BS 476 part 7.
